Christian Academy (SCA), founded in 1996, the Christian school of the First Baptist Church of Glenarden, is excited to host our final OPEN HOUSE  before  fall classes commence on August 22, 2012. Concerned about the plight of African-American men and boys, several philanthropic organizations have launched initiatives to improve opportunities for them to succeed. Some programs address the structural bias that leaves these men more likely to be incarcerated, jobless and disproportionately affected by other social disadvantages.

The Senior Pastor of Mt. Ennon Baptist Church, an 8,000 member congregation in Clinton, MD, opposes efforts to bring a luxury casino to Prince George's County Maryland.  The Rev. Delman Coates, Ph.D. says the idea of Prince George's becoming a gambling destination tarnishes the brand of the county and contributes to its economic isolation and segregation from neighboring counties in the National Capital region.
