The Questin A. Robertson & Jaquay C. Robertson Tender Warrior Association has announced a free trip to New York City for young male students, ages 12 to age 18, who are attending a middle school and high school in Prince George's Country, Maryland.

During the trip, the students will tour Wall Street to learn about economic development and financial empowerment. Participants will also enjoy a wide range of fun activities such as water rafting, boating, camping, canoeing, hiking, hang gliding, snorkeling, paintball, and etc.

Family Research Council (FRC) and the Frederick Douglass Foundation will host a panel discussion this Friday at the Metro Center Marriott Hotel titled, "Pulpits Addressing Promiscuity: The Future of the Black Family and Church."

The event will take place as part of the 2011 Frederick Douglass Foundation's annual Leadership Summit.

MTTG Joint Venture Donates $1M to MLK Memorial Foundation, Creates Regional Scholarship Program for H.S. Seniors PDF Print E-mail

The Washington, D.C. Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial Project Foundation’s leadership today announced a $1 million gift from the memorial’s design build joint venture team, MTTG. MTTG is a diverse design, construction management, and building team comprised of professionals from McKissack & McKissack, Turner Construction, Tompkins Builders, and Gilford Corporation. The gift will support the memorial on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. honoring Dr. King.

Theater Alliance Launches New “Hothouse on H” Reading Series PDF Print E-mail

The Theater Alliance announces the start of a new reading series, the Hothouse on H. The inaugural series will run March 6-11 at the H Street Playhouse. With the motto “Where Plays Grow” the Hothouse on H will collaborate with theater companies in the DC Area to present new and challenging works to Washington audiences. The March series will include three Washington, DC premieres and a rarely-produced work by Ntzoke Shange. All readings will be Pay-What-You-Can.
