National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Supports Launch

Bounce TV (www.bouncetv.com), the first-ever over-the-air broadcast television network for African Americans, has signed a distribution agreement with Gannett Broadcasting which will make Gannett's WUSA-TV the exclusive provider of Bounce TV in Washington, D.C., it was announced today by Bounce TV Executive Vice President of Distribution Jeffrey Wolf.

New program will form partnerships and develop new curriculum for students

 

On Thursday, August 25, 2011, The Alpha Phi Alpha Charitable Foundation, Inc. (APACF) announced a major donation of iPads® and educational support services to two local DC schools as part of the launch of the foundation’s new program. Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School in Southeast DC and The Paul Public Charter School in Northwest DC will receive an equal share of iPads ® to be used for math and science classes.

Local group organizes celebratory luncheon to raise money for Howard University Football program and introduce the 2011 Howard University Football Team.

Friends of Howard Football, a local alumni-based fundraising group that promotes interest in the Howard University football program, hosts the “Meet the Bison” luncheon in the Howard University Blackburn Ballroom on Sunday, August 28th from 12 pm to 3 pm.
